We need to take steps today to empower ourselves, our women-owned business and our women-supported communities. The recent Women’s March in NYC and Washington and activities on Long Island and in many other areas show how important it is for women to collectively raise their voices and create awareness around important societal issues. This reflects on all aspects of a woman’s daily life, including building her business and improving her community. As Alicia Keys said:

“We are mothers. We are caregivers. We are artists. We are activists. We are entrepreneurs, doctors, leaders of industry and technology. Our potential is unlimited. We rise.”

I know how hard it is for a woman developing her own business and brand. I am a woman and a business owner. I know your doubts and fears but I also know the importance of productive and meaningful communication, both for your business and your soul. Look for your audience online and join groups to engage and find out more about what people that may be interested in what you offer are saying. Be helpful and connect with others. You never know what may happen when you put out a little good karma.
